Lizzy & Mike

Lizzy & Mike

On a walkable stretch of South Philadelphia, Mike and Lizzy created a home that feels considered without trying too hard.

Tucked inside 📍1828 S 9th Street, their space reflects a kind of quiet intention. Nothing overly styled, nothing forced. Just good light, collected pieces, and a layout that unfolds naturally. Their style leans modern eclectic with a midcentury influence, shaped over time through vintage finds, travel keepsakes, and the small details that make a place feel personal.

Music is always part of the atmosphere. Something soft in the background, often João Gilberto. And then there’s Wolfie, their dog, who tends to keep things a little less predictable.

Life here moves easily with the neighborhood. Mornings start at the Bok Building with coffee from Two Persons and pastries from Machine Shop. Maybe a workout at KG Strong. Afternoons drift toward the dog park or a walk to Superette. Evenings wind down with dinner at Mish Mish and a nightcap at Fountain Porter. It’s a rhythm that feels distinctly South Philly. Walkable, social, and rooted in community.

Over time, they’ve shaped the home to better reflect how they live. Bringing in more light, refining functionality, and layering in thoughtful design updates. At its core, it’s always been a place to gather. The living room, bright and open, naturally pulls people in. When the weather’s right, the roof deck becomes its own kind of backdrop. Long evenings with friends, the city just around you.
