How did you get into real estate and what do you love about it?
After about three years of traveling, I accidentally landed back home and at 32 was a little lost as to what to do with my life. A good friend basically talked me into starting, knowing that I would love it AND be really good at it. I really love how creative I get to be in problem-solving in a competitive market. I also LOVE marketing listings.
What made you want to live in your current area?
Well, I left when I was about 22, and kind of accidentally came back when I was about 32 and didn’t think I was going to stay. But, finding community here and such access to outdoors was what made me stay permanently.
What makes living in your area so special?
The fact that you can ski and go to the beach in the same day is truly amazing. Also, our food scene here is no joke.
A workday spent running around the neighborhood: what's your first stop and last stop?
Depends on the neighborhood! But if i'm in North Portland, I'd say Derby for a quick bite to eat and then Parkside pub for a lil glass of wine.
Best restaurant/bar? Favorite spot for coffee?
Portland is all about neighborhoods. We take huge pride in our small neighborhoods. So this is like making me pick a favorite furbaby.
A day in the life: how are you spending a day off in your neighborhood/area?
Honestly, going on long walks in the neighborhoods and just discovering things i'd never see in a car.
What's your favorite hidden gem?
Oh gosh, in all of portland?? There are so many, but The Sapphire Hotel has been around forever and I always forget about it!
What is your favorite piece of your area's culture?
I think how much we love food and the outdoors.
Tell us a fun fact about you!
I come from commercial fishing and my family has our own high-end canned tuna brand (Sacred Sea Tuna. yeah, I just plugged my family's tuna), and I am a sailboat captain!
